Jon Jones returned to the Octagon on Saturday night at UFC 232, and he picked up virtually right where he left off — winning the light heavyweight championship. Despite everything surrounding him outside of the cage, Jones was his usual, dominant self inside of it as he.
Speaking of “usual,” as we’ve come to find out over the years, whenever Jones has that light heavyweight belt strapped around his waist, reigning heavyweight champion and fierce rival Daniel Cormier is never far behind.
"I know there's a guy who has been calling himself Champ Champ…"
"Daddy's home DC, come get your belt back!"

After the match, Jones wasted little time to call out the former champ. Cormier didn’t take too long before throwing some shade back at Jones after the call out.

UFC president Dana White said he was talking to Cormier during the fight and that the heavyweight champion may delay those retirement plans he’s discussed for the last year or so. It would only be right for the two fighters to have one more bout to close out the trilogy.
Cormier currently has WWE’s Universal Champion and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar on the mind. Jones, when focused is the best MMA fighter on the planet. If Jones can stay clean and drug-free, 2019 could be a signature year for him.
