R, Kelly Faces Lawsuit After Threats Against Alleged Victim

The beginning of another week brings forth more fall out from the Surviving R. Kelly documentary. An alleged victim of the R&B singer states after revealing her story in the docuseries she received threats. The woman who is speaking out is Faith Rodgers. She appeared with Gloria Allred in New York City and revealed that she received a letter that would provide information of her sexual past with the general public.

“I trusted him and he betrayed my trust,” Rodgers said. “No woman should be criticized, shamed or retaliated against for speaking the truth. I was vulnerable and impressionable when I met him at 19.”

Rodgers, 21, states she also saw pictures of hers make it to the Suriving Lies Facebook page that was taken down not long after it was created. Rodgers already has sued Kells back in May of 2018, stating the singer gave her an STD and sexual battery. The former of the two charges were dismissed in Dallas. Sexual battery still looms and will be the subject of a meeting with the New York Police Department as it first occurred in the Big Apple.

The Lawsuit against Kelly states he met Rodgers at a 2017 concert in San Antonio, Texas. NBC Chicago reports, in response, R. Kelly sent a letter to an attorney for Rodgers stating if matters “persists in court action she will be subjected to public opinion during the discovery process. For example, my law team is prepared to request the production of the medical test results proving the origin of her STD claim, as well as 10 personal male witnesses testifying under oath about her sex life in support of her claim and complete records of her text/face time message exchanges…”

In addition to, “If Ms. Rodgers really cares about her own reputation she should cease her participation and association with the organizers of this negative campaign. Counter actions are in the developmental stages and due to be released soon.”

The threats in regards to Ms. Rodgers were not only limited to her, the parents have also stated phone calls and text messages have been issued to them since the docuseries aired.
