After a whirlwind of a year including movies, tours and sold-out sauces, Bobby Brown and his wife Alicia Etheredge-Brown have launched, The Bobbi Kristina Serenity House to support victims of domestic violence in Massachusetts.
Following the untimely death of Bobbi Kristina Brown in 2015, her father Bobbi Brown has vowed to honor his daughter as well as help other victims of abuse. The Bobbi Kristina Serenity House is a nonprofit that will respond to all Massachusetts calls connected through the BKSH hotline from victims of domestic violence seeking assistance in the state. BKSH will provide fundraising and support to Brookview House to provides safe housing and on-site programs to families struggling through homelessness and domestic violence.
BKSH is assisting with fundraising and awareness around Brookview’s annual luncheon and symposium, the Power of the Purse, which is taking place on Thursday, April 11that the Seaport Hotel Plaza Ballroom. The event is designed to raise awareness and financial support for the courageous moms of Brookview who are relentless in their efforts to lift their children out of homelessness.
“The impact of domestic violence not only affects men and women,” stated Bobby Brown. “It impacts our children and can keep them from becoming healthy leaders in my home state, Massachusetts. We are excited to join Brookview House and combine our resources to help these families move forward with their lives.”
The number of people experiencing homelessness in families with children in Massachusetts grew by a stunning 94 percent from 2007-2018. Each year, Brookview provides 370 women and children experiencing homelessness with a safe, supportive environment in which to live and acquire and practice skills to pursue education, job training and employment in order to achieve long-term stability and economic independence.
